Spring is a time for new beginnings. And for those who have had their educational paths disrupted by a mental illness or substance use problem, it can be especially significant. Each spring is when we accept applications for our scholarship and bursary programs.
Even more than the financial support they provide, for many these programs represent new beginnings and new hope:
“My mental health problem has been a very personal and frightening experience; with the loss of my career I didn’t just lose my income, I lost my community and focus. Thank you to CMHA and the Lorne Fraser Educational Bursary for being there to help me start the journey back to myself. Thank you for your support.”
– John, 2017 bursary recipient
Last year we were able to help 14 youth and adults through our post-secondary scholarships and bursaries. With your $25 donation, we will be able to help even more.
Your donation brings new hope and new beginnings for youth and adults across BC. Through the help of donors like you, we’ve been able to help over 200 people pursue post-secondary education since 1982.
Thank you for planting seeds of hope this spring!
