Homelessness Services Association of BC (HSABC) in partnership with CMHA Kamloops Branch invites you to a one-day workshop for community partners called Mental Health, Addictions and Trauma.
This one day course will run form 9am-4pm. These courses are being offered as part of CMHA Kamloops’ commitment to Mental Health Week 2018, which runs from May 7-13, 2018.
Presented by Katharine Aubrey, Mental Health, Addictions and Trauma examines the nature of addiction and effective interventions to support clients. This HSABC training class explores the overlap between trauma, mental health and addiction. Discuss the signs and symptoms of some of the most common disorders and challenge stigmas that relate to addiction and mental illness. Schizophrenia, depression and the many faces of anxiety will be covered, as well as effective strategies for engagement and interventions. Group participants will have an opportunity to examine common barriers to services and possible solutions.
